Music Celebration Concert is a culmination of CYO's spring semester featuring Prelude, Intermezzo, Intermediate, Chamber, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, and the Symphonic Solo Competition winner, Preston T. (cello), who will perform with Symphonic Orchestra. Pre-order tickets and concert video download by June 5.
The Concert Finale is CYO's final concert of the season featuring Symphony and Symphonic Orchestras, a celebration of our graduating seniors, and the winners of the Symphony Solo Competition, Brandon D. (cello), Ethan W. (bassoon) and Joel C. (violin), who will perform with the Symphony Orchestra. Tickets orders will be available soon.
Summer Workshop 2025 registration is open! This week-long workshop is open to everyone, including students who are new to CYO and ensemble playing. Our professional conductors and staff offer sectional coaching and ensemble rehearsals that culminates in a performance on the last day, July 18. Learn more and register by the deadline, June 30.
Summer Auditions are now open for new students and current student move-ups for the 2025-2026 season. We hold summer auditions to assess student readiness and placement into one of our seven ensembles. Join us for another exciting year of concerts and events! CIVIC YOUTH ORCHESTRA AT A GLANCE
CYO on Tour in New York City in June 2024
The San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra led by Robert Gilson, conductor and music director, delivered a spectacular performance on the legendary Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall on June 21, 2024, as part of the Viennese Masters Orchestra Invitational. Their talent and passion captivated the audience, earning them standing ovations.
